HOW TO CHECK FOR TESTICULAR CANCER

Testicular Self-Exam (TSE)

1. Check each testicle one at a time.

2. Place your index and middle fingers

under the testicle and your thumb

on top.

3. Gently roll the testicle between your

thumb and fingers. It should feel

smooth to the touch.

4. Feel for any hard lumps on the testicle.

5. Repeat the process with the

other testicle.

6. If you find a lump, see your doctor immediately.

When is the best time to perform the TSE?

• During or right after a warm shower or bath

• Warm water relaxes the skin on the scrotum, making

the TSE easier to perform

• Remember to do the TSE once a month

What are the symptoms of testicular cancer?

• A hard, painless lump on the testicle

(most common sign)

• Slight enlargement of one of the testicles

• A dull ache or feeling of heaviness in the testicles,

groin, or lower abdomen
